A fake yet well-printed business card with something like “whatever.com, Jerry Fleish, CIO” can help impress the gallery managers. In case of very exclusive parties, you can get in claiming that you are a reporter for some neighborhood paper (obviously you can also claim that you are from any type of media, from TV to web to print).

Invitations

Here are how many parties you can expect to be invited to in a major city:

Let say you want to go to one gallery opening a week. Since each gallery has a new event every 10 weeks or so, you would need to sign up to 10 galleries. If you want 2 shows a week, then 20 galleries.

I'm personally signed up to over 40 (which also include furniture boutiques and fashion shows). I hit them 1 to 2 times a week. (I also hook up a lot more often in these events).

Soon you should be getting emails or invites by mail about their upcoming events.
