Getting in the list

Approach the host (usually the owner) and make small talk.

Hang around the gallery for no more than 20 minutes because you have at least 5 more to visit.

Before leaving, say that you would like to know when new paintings will come out. They'll probably mention something about signing up on the guest list. If they are going to have an opening soon, they'll probably mention it at this point.

Sign up on their mailing list. If they don't mention it, ask for it. 99% have one. If for some reason they don't, don't worry, there are other galleries.

Side Note

When leaving jot down next to the gallery name and how large their space is, together with how sophisticated the place looks. You will need this info in the future to figure out how many friends to bring and how well you need to dress.

Go to the next gallery on the list and repeat this process.
