Strategic Observation Positioning

You will want to be on the look out till you land a chick to talk to. To do this while making yourself available in case they want to spark a conversation with you is to be standing at an accessible and visible location.

Don't sit down if you are on the hunt. If you are drinking with your buddies, position yourself in a way where you can see the chicks passing by while at the same time they can easily say something to you.

Bars

If you are at a bar or pub, stand by the bar counter. Single women have to get their own drinks, so they will be coming to you instead of you trying to blatantly shimmy in on them.

Clubs

If you are at club, stand where there is light, where you can be seen and where there is transit. Given the dim lighting in clubs, most women won't accept an approach from some guy in the dark. If they had a good chance to see you, at least they will get a chance to evaluate whether they want to be with you. If they can't see what you look like under good light, your chances are zilch, no matter how good you look.

Parties

House parties, cocktail socials, weddings and events, etc, stand close to the desserts or finger food. Not only do they love to check out the catering, but you can also spark a convo about the food.
